On March 8th, 2007 the the installation of the artwork has been completed.
In 2005 the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam commissioned an artwork for their dermatology department. As the patients stay there for several weeks and the view was not too exciting, Art is expected to make the difference.
The work of art is over thirty meters long, four meters height and one meter deep. It consists of thousands of small disks with a 60mm diameter rotating in the wind and reflecting the ambient light around. A hidden pattern enclosed in the structure provides a puzzling properties on the long term.
euroGenie was in charge of the construction and the realization of this light sculpture.
Tineke Reijnders wrote a very nice article about the work (in dutch).
